Our privacy policy

It’s pretty simple . . .

Yes, we do collect the bare minimum information about you when you register: name, email address, phone number (for verification of the other two). No, we do not share any of your personal information with anybody for any purpose, unless a legal authority requires it.

If you do register we store your information in your user profile, which you can see and edit at any time (except you cannot change your username).

And if you do leave a comment, we do collect the information on the comment form and also your IP address and browser agent string to help spam detection. We retain this information indefinitely so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments immediately.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

The conversation comments (aka the comments conversation) . . .

Joyful Journey Resources welcomes and encourages conversation – about the journey, especially your journey, about the resources and the ideas and perspectives expressed in them. We grow in faith when we see what God is up to in other folks’ lives, we appreciate our journey when we see where following Jesus takes other people.

So yes, join your co-followers. If you have an opinion, or a perspective, or a question, or an “Aha!,” or a “Wait! What?” please leave it in the conversation section following each post.

But (yeah, there are some guidelines, but you knew this):

• You need to join our community and register on the form here.
• You need to post helpful comments, that are . . .
  • Yours – as in with your first name and email address
  • Yours – as in your own ideas, not plagarism from someone else
  • Respectful – even when they are disagree-able
  • On topic
  • Briefly cogent
  • Free of offensive language
  • Free of attacks, insults, threats, ads, self-promotion, spam
• You need to know that we may edit long or rambling comments for brevity and cogency; and we reserve our right discard any comments that don’t meet these standards.
• You retain ownership of your comment and are responsible for it; Joyful Journey Resources accepts no liability for any comment posted, but . . .
• You do grant Joyful Journey Resources the absolute right to publish and store your comment, at our discretion.
